Hell, why not pave over the whole thing and add a group of luxury residence towers to the plan.. Keep a few orchids for the foyers.
Why do we keep implementing these singularly bad ideas?

We are losing our beauty to concrete! Use the money to maintain the gardens, they are beautiful as they are. You don't need to make something ugly like a garage to have Selby Gardens to stay beautiful! Greed is oposite of God, stop this now!

Let’s keep unique....unique. Part of the lore or history is the entire original atmosphere of going to Selby and not just walking through the admission door

The planners actually alerted us that this was a bad deal, by their grade-school attempt to be deceptive with the public. We're smarter than you think. Go forward with the truth and transparency, and maybe we can bend like a willow. Try to make us fools, and you'll get this petition and pushback. This is completely out of scale and does nothing to enhance the quaint nature of a world-class destination. Grow, but keep the character. This 'facelift' would be catastrophic.

More parking equals more ignorant people trampling through the gardens leaving destruction in their wake. As a pass holder I am infuriated they would ever consider ruining the original homes. Part of the experience starts when you find your way in through the classic homes and winding trees.

What a horrible idea to destroy one of the most beautiful places in sarasota. Im sure if their plan goes though I would never be able to afford to return to the garden..

This hyper development will be wiped away with one storm. In just the last 16 years, the traffic, construction and development has made our lovely city into congestion.

Shelby Gardens has always been one of the most welcoming and charming places in Sarasota. Don’t take away this unique and historic part of the best garden in Florida and replace it with a generic high rise that many residents will be unable to afford.
