If the comprehensive plan already identified the best plan for orderly growth and development of the city then it shouldn't need to be changed unless it's to adjust for overgrowth - not to create it.

Enough. Quaint Sarasota has been destroyed through ghastly over building . This is not NY with palms.

I will continue to voice my opinion against this insane project. Such a high rise does not belong in our neighborhood.

I am totally against this project, it is motivated by greed and will ruin our wonderful neighborhood.

I moved to the west coast of Florida for the quiet lifestyle. Whaterver I can do to keep our city from turning into a Miami scene!

All building of new structures must stop in SW Florida in order for it to have a chance at surviving economically and ecologically.

It is extremely disturbing to see this proposal. I am sure this is NOT what Marie Selby had in mind. We need to work hard to save what is left of Florida’s drawing card, tropical beauty. Not turn more of it into cement.

When I first heard about the plans for the structure I thought perhaps folks were overreacting a bit with the protests. That was until I saw the enormity of the center. No thank you!

The request by Selby Gardens is excessive, bad for the immediate residential neighborhood, bad for the surrounding neighborhoods, and bad for Sarasota. This would be another excessive build-out under current City goverenance. This build-out plan went too far. As an owner in nearby Arlington Park, I want to protect our great City from this excess. Come on, this is a garden in town, not miles away or across Hwy 95. 3 stories would have been enough, but Selby Gardens got greedy so it can pay the outrageous salaries to its top administrators. Selby cannot grow beyond the current acreage. It will uproot 100+ existing trees to build a parking garage and entertainment/restaurant. This is about everyone making big money and lack of concern how they get their result. M Pryce, Arlington Park.
