I've been a visitor since 1984 and have never seen such nonsense at the dump. The residents, as well as the tourists, deserve a healthy life. Please correct this situation! Thanks.

Since driving through the smoke on Friday all of my allergies have been activated. However this isnt about my general discomfort anymore this is threathening to be an environmental disaster for this island of momumental proportions.

The pollutants are all toxic to humans, they may cause irritations, skin and respiratory problems, some are carcinogenic!

take taxes from casinos, night clubs , cruises and private charts in the budget, not in your own pocket and build a recycling facture, as most islands have already lfor ong time.

This island is SO behind the times with regards to taking care of environmental issues! From "The Dump" to the lack of recycling encouragement and accessibility to the raw sewage running freely in the streets and the lagoons. When are people going to wake up!? We can blame the government for their lack of action all we want but ultimately its up to each person to make the commitment to take care of their own garbage in a responsible manor. Its the little things every day that we can do to make a positive impact until the Government steps up. The time for talk is long over, its action that is needed. Our health, the health and future of our children and the ecosystem depend on it.

Let's develop a plan where this will not happen again. Take a look at what Aruba did.

The dump in Philipsburg was supposed to be temporary! Get it out of our capital!
