We have been special guests of a prominent family in St. marten for a number of years and were always curious why in Gods name would anyone locate a garbage dump near a body of water whether salt or fresh. In the country of our origin we would never be allowed this practice and wish that the executive branch of St. Maarten would consider relocating said dump to a more environmentally safe site. Modern technology has created a safe technique of garbage disposal which can and will generate a major amount of energy and create much needed employment of the citizens of St. Maarten.

Sunday 17 April, 2016, the entire island, French side as well was smoky, due to wind direction, this cannot be healthy.

I'm not a resident. But to have this giant pile of trash burning constantly is dangerous. We need to find a solution with all the everyday waste that's piling up. I hope the people of St. Marteen see some light through all that smoke.
