Spent a great deal of time at the ball field with Dave and the local boys. I can picture his smiling as he ran those bases!

As I mentioned on Facebook "I see him at the old ball field on the back street, swinging that ball bat and taunting his teammates with a great big smile... As a kid he would hear the ruckus from his house & it wouldn't be long before he made his way there on his bicycle. I can only imagine how many hours he actually spent at that field.. playing with people two and three times his age. He wanted to prove himself.. And that he did. He turned out to be one heck of a player!! Dad and I have often mentioned him and his shenannigans during his time on the rec team as a kid... and I know we (& others) will continue to do so, with smiles on our faces, as time passes." A fitting tribute to David & the Vasil family! Wholeheartedly supported, Carolyn Kelly.

So fitting since his father played a huge part in building this field - often out by himself in rain or shine working diligently on the field
