We need to get our priorities straight. End the school to prison pipeline, drastically cut funding to Kalamazoo Public Safety, and pour heavy funding into education and our future.

Funding for public education is absolutely essential for our community(as is it anywhere), we should not be proposing budget cuts

We received a property tax break several years ago because of a private donation. I would happily pay more in property taxes for our children & schools! I no longer have students in KPS, they have all graduated from college. Kalamazoo Public schools need more resources not less.

By cutting funds KPS, you are essentially funding the school to prison pipeline. Enough!

The schools need more funding if anything to help them catch up, and give them the tools to adapt and overcome! Also the flu shot coming to the students in the schools to be administered so that no one is left out and our hospitals are not overwhelmed in the fall with not only the Covid for still burning but flu cases on top of it. Let’s be ready and not stick our heads in the sand with budget cuts that will only hurt our youth

Cutting school funding to increase funding for the police is UNACCEPTABLE, Kalamazoo. The community does not want nor do we need this. What we do need is to think about all of the vital programs and children that will suffer if this happens.
