What a shame this fab pub and meeting hotel was left to die. Many happy days and nights in here. People outside the village wouldn't understand... let's hit "the hot". Xx

I understand the regeneration group has some great ideas for the Hotel which would bring life back to Derwent Street. Planning applications for change of use will be objected to so take heed if your plans would be to make money from a distance from our heritage and current hard times.

There is a thriving community in Chopwell who are determined to breath life back into our village. The hotel has been owned by a distant landlord for years, who has let it deteriorate and die. Its a historical meeting place for local people.

No more housing development community only

This building has a massive amount of memories for all Chopwell people, many have laughed and cried and meet new friends here don’t ruin the history of Chopwell with more housing/flats make it into a place people can visit and share memories.

This Village has been and is a very community spirited area,and needs MORE buildings for community use the Chopwell Hotel is an integral part of the village always has been in whatever guise,housing is the very last thing the village needs there.
