Is BB the only person who had invented a one-liner phrase, printed on a postcard, which is now in the dictionary of quotations?

Bruce Bairnsfather certainly deserves recognition (even though there is a little family bias as he was my grandfather). His many cartoons and books put a smile on many faces. His work really is still very relevant today. Thank you to the Holts for organizing this petition!

My volume of the Bairnsfather cartoons is one of my treasures. I do hope that the great man finally obtains due recognition for all his work on behalf of so many in such awful times.

These men made a great contribution. I'm also delighted that Walter Bowring (great uncle by marriage) will get some recognition with an exhibition in 2017 in Wellington.

I have several battered B.B. cartoon magazines which my late father saved from his service with the Canadian Army in the trenches in WW1.

Just amazing how clever and imaginative the cartoons were in the face of all the tragedy

Bruce Bairnsfather's contribution to raising morale is undeniable. This small acknowledgement of his work is long overdue.

even in time of war, a good laugh is a great antidote to all the ills and suffering that's going on.

Capt. Bruce Bainsfather deserves recognition for easing the trauma which families felt as they were separated for many months from the loved ones serving "in the trenches".

Think Old Bill was also made into an early talking movie.

About time! Bairnsfather did for the PBI what Ernie Pyle and Bill Mauldin did for the GIs of WW2.
