The parade is tradition and for the children, not for politicians.
People on the Southside take pride in bringing their children to witness the tradition of the Bud Billiken parade, please return the parade to its former status.

The way the Bud was this yr was disappointing, a lot of spectators missing, and rushed. My daughter is a part of one of the dance groups and they practiced long and hard in the grueling sun this summer to be able to fully participate in the parade. Only to arrive that morning to start their march down King Drive and for the marshals of the parade to prevent them from performing every time they tried. This makes no sense and something definitely needs to be done about it. People kept asking why they weren't stopping to dance and we made sure to inform them that it wasn't because they didn't want to it was because they weren't allowed to by the staff of the Bud Billiken parade.. Let's get it back to the way it used to be !!!!!!

I see these children fundraising for their spot in the parade. So exactly what does it cost the city. If any thing sure it's not close to Lollapalooza.

I've been coming to the Bud Billiken Parade ever since I was born. This year with my daughter first time ever in the parade. I really enjoyed it even though they only stop at certain places but I really enjoyed myself. Will I attend next Year's parade? Yes I will and plus this my 8yr old son second year attending

I've been attending this parade for 30 years. This is my family tradition and this parade was ridiculous. How dare they strip this from our community. Just to add some individuals come to the parade to see south shore drill team

This year's parade was pure disappointment... I've been attending since i was a child and it used to be the highlight of the summer which is why i continued our family tradition of taking my kids...this year's was super short and only walking and waving...no performances and the south shore drill team were severely missed... I hope they get it together for next year
