The move affects more than 150 drivers, most would have to pay $178.00 per month if this cut is approved. District 7 board member Kevin Willis agreed , adding "the wagons have to be circled around our full-time employees." Does he not realize that the bus drivers are the most important piece of the school ? driving the students to and from school safely is a huge responsibility that is taken for granted. Several board members, questioned whether benefits should be taken from any employees. Dr. Schuch did say that employees affected by the change could be given the first option of applying for any positions within the school system that come open that they would be qualified to fill. Does he have 150plus positions to fill ? no he does not ! The bus drivers have been hit hard for the last five years... first the safety bonus was taken away to save money, then no raises for several years and now they want them to pay for their health care, Do you think that your childs Bus driver will continue to drive your child safely to and from school when they are drowning under the bills they have at home?
