Didn't manage to get to any Waddington Airshows, but, like others, I hope a suitable venue in Lincolnshire can be found for future displays

When Waddington closed for a runway rebuild I said it wouldn't host another show. With the operational commitments now on the base it would not be possible to secure the station with 130,000 visitors allowed to walk around. Coningsby is too far east and the access is not ideal. Scampton on the other hand would be an ideal alternative. Easily reached by road and rail and Lincoln has in place the logistics to cope with vast numbers attending. Lincoln showground is not far away and would be ideal for park and ride. Ex RAF [17 years] with 2 tours at Waddington in the 60s.

I know times are hard but Bomber County without an airshow is unbelievable.

Living in Lincolnshire, and having served over 23 years in the RAF and being based at RAF Waddington both as a serviceman and civil servant, I know how beneficial the air show is to the good name and reputation of the Royal Air Force. It provides an introduction to the younger generation, as well as a wonderful advertisement to the nation, of the role and history of the RAF, the base and the historical association with Lincolnshire. An airshow must continue in Lincolnshire, if not at Waddington then at one of the other stations in 'Bomber County".

I spent six years in Linolnshire in the RAF and feel very strongly about the relationship between the two. Keep the air display in Lincolnshire, wherever.

The north needs a good airshow especially when you consider the history and heritage of northern bases.

We travel from Essex for this wonderful event. Please do not deny future young aviators a marvellous opportunity to visit this friendly base and engage with iconic aircraft past and present

The north needs an air show spectacular for recruitment purposes alone. The south has RIAT.

Such a shame as Waddington was the best air show - it had a wonderful family feel. RAF - please agree to use another of your bases.

I'm not from Lincolnshire but understand the locals' feelings. Many people travel from all over the UK to the Waddington show. Please find an alternative site asap.

I served in the RAF in Lincolnshire in the late fifties with some involvement with Bomber Command including Scampton Vulcans of 27,83, and 617 squadrons." The SHOW MUST GO ON" some where.
