Thank EU! And Happy New Year

Europe has given me and my family so much. Exciting work building the Single Market, with so many colleagues from every country. Friends in so many towns and cities. And most of all a European family and a European home.

I hope we will be back in EU before too long. It is where we belong, alongside our friends and neighbours on the continent.

I cannot overstate how sad I am about our leaving the EU.

So embarrassed that you have had to deal with this unrepresentative Johnson Government

So very sad.

I hope this letter shows that many of us in Britain still feel European and are deeply saddened by the loss of our European Union citizenship and identity. Not everyone in the U.K. supports Brexit and many of us valued our membership of the EU greatly. I completely concur with the sentiments of this letter and am saddened and embarrassed by the belligerent and unpleasant language and behaviour many of our politicians and leaders are using towards the EU and its people. I hope in time we on this side of “La Manche” can eventually return to a spirit of friendliness and co-operation with the EU and European countries, and that the damage done in recent years to the UK’s relationship with the EU will eventually be repaired.

We are now entering a dark dangerous tunnel where Johnson and co will claim every glow worm is the light at the end. Pray that voters eventually see through this.

So sorry that we are leaving - feel absolutely devastated! Let us hope for a better future.

Now and forever European!

Never give up.

I look forward to my grandchildren reclaiming cherished European citizenship.
