I, my family, and my academic colleagues, profoundly regret the UK’s decision to leave the EU. We will always see ourselves as European and will personally work to retain the closest links possible, in the hope that one day we will return.

I am a European who has had my birthright stole from me by an unrepresentative government elected through a corrupt and inadequate voting system. I wish all my friends in Europe a peaceful and successful year in 2021, and ask you to reflect on your good fortune that you are not a citizen of the United Kingdom.

I am proudly European. I believe vote leave have conned the people into voting the way they did. The UK may have left the EU but I remain ever European and long for the day when we will be back again. We love EU, best wishes.

I mourn our imminent departure from the EU, but am still European and will remain so.
