Very sad to be leaving and fearful of what our crazy government is leading us into. Always European

I have supported our being part of the community of European nations since 1957 when I went to a lecture at 16 years old about the "Common Market" and was very angry that we had not joined from the beginning.

Never so strong as in Europe. Our present government is what it is and we didn't vote for it, but governments come and co and when this one has gone perhaps we can hope for close ties once again with our neighbours.

Words can't express the sadness and despair I'm feeling at this moment. The sense of how we are going to feel estranged from the French part of our family is devastating. We also feel it seems like ingratitude towards all those Europeans who have been our friends especially including the two young Germans in the flat below who supported us and did our shopping all through lock-down.

I have always felt that the political symbolism of a united Europe was more important than the economic advantages. I deeply regret Brexit and remain proud to be British and European.

The EU and the UK were never enemies. We weren’t even friends. We were family. Words cannot express my sorrow at what has happened to my country, and my despair at how much we have lost. But as the long struggle against Brexit ends a new one begins, and I and many others in the UK will continue to fight for our place in the European family. Please don't forget us.

I am so ashamed of the dismissive manner with which this Brexit Administration has treated our friends and partners in the EU and want to tell them that we are not part of this nostalgic cabal which is causing us all such great self harm.

Still can't quite believe that a bunch of conmen and liars have managed to take our country to this sorry place.

We would like to add our own expression of great sadness at the termination of probably the most meaningful movement for peace and co-operation in the world during our lifetimes. (78 and 79 years)

I will be a European for ever. I am utterly disgusted by the actions of our Government and ashamed to be British. Please re-admit us when we ask, which I am confident we will.
