Huge sudden increase in tube noise at Mornington Crescent from the Bank branch of the Northern Line over the last few months - from barely audible during the last TWELVE YEARS to 43dB. Vibrations are awful and go right through whole 2 storey flat. Can no longer sleep through the night nor relax in my home. TfL are doing NOTHING to remedy and say will 'monitor situation' - completely unacceptable. They must fix it NOW.

That's an unacceptable, plus the tube noise affects passengers as well, subtly damaging their hearing system and their brain. I suffered for that and can't take the tube now, unless really necessary. Maintenance is fundamental and there are no excuses to the lack of attention to the damage caused by the noise, only because isn't "visible". It affects our brain more than we can perceive, so we are all involved in this problem. The solution has to be found immediately!

Noise pollution is the bane of city dwellers' lives. Metro systems in other capitals are virtually silent. Why not ours?

The noise was so loud when we visited the Garrick Theatre that we couldn't hear much of the dialogue.

I fully support this petition. Noise pollution is a serious threat to people's health and wellbeing and TFL needs to properly address peoples' complaints.

The noise had got louder and louder and now the tube is 24hrs weekends too. Sitting in our garden is not a relaxing experience any more and disturbs the children sleep too.

TFL to compensate the residents affected by the Tube noise and to comply with national and international noise standards"
"We the undersigned, call on Transport For London to provide compensation to the residents affected by levels of Tube noise which fail to comply with national and international standards on noise.
TFL has so far refused to deal with noise complaints in a satisfactory manner, claiming immunity.
Some of the affected residents have complained to TFL for years while others have been forced out of their homes. Many have seen their lives, livelihood, and health compromised. TFL has repeatedly refused to compensate residents even in the most serious cases. It is also refusing to accept responsibility for recent sharp increases in noise as a result of poor maintenance and management, or to take steps to reduce that noise to an acceptable level."

Noise and vibrations 24 hours a day destroy lives! All my neighbours agree, including those who don't speak English or who don't own computer who are unable to complain.

Extremely noisy at night even after TFL noise dampening. You wouldn't have night flights without resident consultation why is it different for Night Tubes!
