Tube noise in Notting Hill / Holland Park area disturbs people's lives in their own homes, despite the fitting of pads on some areas of the tracks. This is specially true in the evening and during the entire night at the week-end, and it is NOT ACCEPTABLE. There had been no noise ever prior to 2015. Tfl needs to take its responsibilities and fix the problem they created ASAP. Better communications from Tfl are necessary, and also perhaps better engineers ...

We have concerns that tube noise or vibrations and tremors are affecting the integrity of our building,

Thank you for your comment. I am very sorry to hear your testimony. I have been made homeless by TFL because the noise level was seriously damaging my health. Please sign with your name as anonymous petitions are not valid. Plus, make a complaint directly to TFL and ask them to measure the noise in your home. Please see Tube Noise Action Group page with suggestions on possible actions: https://www.tubenoiseactiongroup.com/home/what-can-i-do/ Luce

The noise from the Victoria Line tube is appalling. Especially on evenings into early mornings, it's like a run-way has been built at the end of our street. It's impacting on the sleep of all the family, it has put a huge strain on our lives that is becoming ever more detrimental. Travelling on the Victoria line on a night itself it is clear the noise levels are way too high, the trains are clearly not designed to be run that fast on the tracks as they are. Either the trains need to slow down, back to previous/designed speeds, or the tracks need modifying. As the damaging impact the insentient, intrusive noise is having on the lives of those along the length of the line (as my weary, sleep-deprived family can attest) is unacceptable. Please, please stop the noise! It is literally shaking my family apart!

TFL needs to take accountability for the direct detrimental impact they have had on people's quality of life.

When TFL's own noise engineers have measured the noise levels in our home they admit that it is over the threshold as set by WHO. However I have also received direct feedback from TFL representatives that this breach is NOT acknowledged by TFL and its rail engineers. They are blatantly denying the truth and therefore refusing to do anything about it. They need to be help accountable by another body to ensure they justify their actions and remedy their mistakes over the past five years.

TFL like all public and private bodies should be regulated for noise and pollution.

We now have trouble getting to sleep on Friday and Saturday nights, and our sleep is disturbed and of low quality when we do manage it. This is damaging our health.

I want an answer from Tfl and their engineers and scientists. What is the cause /causes of substantial and very disturbing tube noise which began in Notting Hill in August 2015, increased steadily to August 2016 when baffles were placed on Eastbound tracks between Shepherds Bush and Notting Hill. There must be an explanation and we residents have a right to know what has changed. I had no noise problem from moving in February 2004 to August 2014.

Whilst TfL's own risk register identified that the reduction in quality of life of residents through disturbed sleep as a result of the noise could lead to threats of suicide, TfL has no compensation scheme in place and has no plans to implement one, according to information obtained from TfL under a Freedom of Information Act request.
