Supporting FTNTL faculty with young children is in the spirit of cura personalis. I do not see any good reason for excluding FTNTLs who have been at Georgetown for more than a year or are on multiyear contracts, and are thus integral to the university.

I fully support this petition given that benefits should be applied equally to all faculty, both TL and FTNTL, particularly regarding their health and well-being.

Georgetown should set a moral example for treating its staff and workers with respect and dignity. All faculty members should be entitled for the same parental leave.

FTNTL faculty shape the experience of our students, making GU the great experience special. Why should they be treated any differently from TL faculty?

Unnecessary and unfair distinction between TL faculty and FTNTL faculty should be eliminated to make Georgetown a better work place.

This is ridiculous. As John Tutino says, "We should not have two classes of faculty; we must not have two classes of benefits."

This petition has my full and enthusiastic support. It is fair and right to extend these benefits to our FTNTL colleagues.

I support the petition. I grew up in Israel where all residents (citizens or foreign employees) who have worked at least one year are entitled to parental leave of 26 weeks of which 15 weeks is paid by the government

I've heard this spoken about since I arrived at Georgetown, and I am continually astonished that nothing has been done to rectify this. It's time.

As a tenure-line faculty member who had to petition to receive family leave benefits for adopting a child in 1999, and more generally as a feminist, I strongly support this petition extending parental leave to FTNTLs.

Nearly thirteen years ago, with the help of Kathryn Temple and Jim Slevin, I cobbled together 5 weeks of leave to recover from a C-section and care for my newborn daughter. This initiative is critical. I strongly support.

Everyone should have paid parental leave and Georgetown can make a powerful statement by extending this benefit to ALL of its employees!
You have my full support.
