I agree with this petition. The integrity of the Land Registry System depends on those with licences are the caretakers of the system.

Teranet should not allow microlenders to loan and to have the means to secure their own loans against title. No check and balance and people are losing their homes.

This is very important as I have noticed in my own real estate practice an increase amount of notice of security interest being registered improperly to the detriment of home owners.

I am of the view that, in addition to the above, only lawyers should register mortgages.

I have previusly suggested to Mr. Lem that Security Interests not be registrable without a Certificate of Independent Legal Advice. Acceding to this Petition would reinforce this position.

Access to law clerks should not be restricted.
