Tennessee Grasslands Master Development Plan Opposition

I agree with this petition as written. More transparency is needed.

Saw this info today, late, and we are travelling tomorrow without adequate time to read and consider. On the side of caution, I will sign this petition.

Priori to approval more details should be provided.

We just bought our home in August and would never have agreed to move here if we thought it may be possible that the GCPC and GCC could make such decisions without homeowner approval.

Home Owners MUST have final approval to what is constructed in our neighborhoods. Property values may decline due to poor planning, ongoing noisy construction or retailers that do not fit in with our values. This is egregious and completely unacceptable. This could cause great financial and/or emotional distress to hundreds, or more, homeowners in our neighborhoods!

I support delaying the approval until the homeowners/residents of the two communities can be better informed.

The proposal is sorely lacking on details. It claims to be based upon a need for better financing, however it neither provides details as to why they are needed nor details on what the impact will be to current FH and FV residents. There is no study presented regarding the probable impact of property values. Why would residents favor the proposal if it would potentially lower their property value? Proposals of this nature, the implementation of which would affect so many people, must be thoughtfully presented and backed with significant studies. The fact that this proposal has gotten to this stage without such is very disturbing.

All home/lot owners as well as club members should be involved in activities of this magnitude

Whoa! Back this bus up! I won’t hand over control of the amenities of this community that I contribute monthly funds to without a fight. I’ve just received this email today, Wednesday 10/16. This needs more study and votes from the residents involved.

"The Foxland Harbor and Fairvue Plantation Planned Unit Developments (PUD’s) have incorporated the residential sites, common areas and the golf courses, since the beginning. Regardless of ownership, the Master Development Plans are meant to ensure that the character of the community is maintained, and that all property owners have the opportunity for input, when changes are proposed. The removal of the clubs from the PUD’s will allow the creation of a new and distinct development plan for country club property. We oppose the separation of the Master Plans, and respectfully ask that the request to separate be either withdrawn by the applicant, or declined by the Commission."

I am concerned about the overall lack of transparency related to the Tennessee Grassland's proposal before the Gallatin Planning Commission. I am concerned as well about the unknown or unclear impact (both in terms of finances and quality of life) the proposal could have on both Foxland and Fairvue homeowners. For these reasons as well as those expressed in the petition and in comments by signatory homeowners, I urge the Gallatin Planning Commission to DENY Tennessee Grassland's request.
