Tell the City of Jacksonville not to neglect the soccer fields at Ed Austin Regional Park

Ed Austin is a big part of our community. The park is a wonderful place with many things to do for everyone. The soccer fields help our youth learn to be part of a team and stay healthy. Let's make them as nice as other neighborhood's parks! We need better care and better security.

Help improve our park, so my grandchildren and other children have place play soccer and safe place that they plays the sport they love.

Let's get this park up to standard like the others around town. This is an injury waiting to happen due to poor field conditions and a lack of maintenance and care of the fields.

I have been playing at AFC for eight years now, and currently play for the U-16 elite team for the club. It hurts me that we can't even play at our home fields because the they are tore up with potholes and dirt with the risk of someone getting hurt increased greatly. When we go to other clubs to play my teammates and I marvel at the fields condition and wish that we could have that at our own park. It's a shame to not have manicured and representable fields to call our own.

These fields have become so degraded, all the holes, the missing grass, it is really sad.

The poor pitch conditions are making it dangerous for the kids to play and the lighting is inadequate for half of the park.

Get some grass on the field instead of dirt holes!!

I play at these fields and they're purely disgusting.

I play soccer here for the u13 adrenaline team and this park is not bad but it does need better fields

As a referee and father, I would love to see our fields in better condition. A couple years ago when we received the extra sod from the Jags field, I thought the park was going to do a better job maintaining the facility, but hasn't. Then I thought we were putting up fences to help keep the fields in good shape, only to find out it was a worthless investment since the soccer association can't lock the doors. I'm asking the city to sign over the small area that is used by AFC and allow them to maintain and lease the fields like other parks do. Arlington's fields are the laughing stock of the NE Florida/SE Georgia soccer world and that is sad. It doesn't have to be this way.
