My daughter has played soccer at these fields for the last 4 years. Soccer means a lot to her and her team. These fields are now so unsafe with holes filled with rocks and uneven ground that a child is bound to get hurt. Please think of these children who love the sport.

All of our children deserve a clean, safe place to play and be children.

The parks are important everywhere...but even more so in this area. The neighborhood needs safe and well maintained spaces to encourage positive activities in the neighborhood. We don't want to see the alternatives!

I have coached soccer at Arlington for 10 seasons and had some wonderful players and parents be a part of our journey. However, as beautiful as our park is, our soccer fields are in poor poor condition. My son broke his collar bone at age 12 and stopped playing because of hitting a bad spot (chewed up dirt hole in front of one of our goals). It completley sucked the life out of his soccer experiences. I have continued to coach and see how "other" parks in the area are maintained and wonder "why does our area continue to be overlooked". Please help with the poor lighting, the even worse field conditions (to include lack of watering the fields, broken sprinklers, and asphalt / rocks used with fill dirt that have caused a huge liability problem for our league and for the city if a child is hurt). I would love to be able to say "Our park is safe"....

In the last 5 years I have seen the fields go down in condition. You worry everytime your child plays on the field that they might hurt themselves. In fact my son broke his collar bone because of the field conditions. Something needs to be done.

As a tax payer living near the Ed Austin Park, I am saddened to see that the soccer fields are not maintained. This could be a beautiful park. It is not safe to have children play soccer in sand mixed with rocks in lieu of well maintained grass. Often the bathroom is shut down. It is very important to this community that our Park is well maintained.

This is a park with a lot of potential. And should be a safe haven for the youth in the community. It's intent was to keep kids off of the streets and not to invite the streets into the park.

Our kids deserve a safe place to play soccer. They are being productive with their lives and becoming positive youth within the community.
