There are millions of other things that money could be used for! Make some of the abandon building useful in some way apartments or something. The intersection is fine and it would kill some of our local business in that area. Spend the money on needed things not useless crap

Once again we have been given an opportunity to have great impact on revitalizing Elmira. And once again the powers that be care more about their idea of beauty! I was appalled by the news broadcast last night and the fact that over and over again a board member went on about how beautiful it would "look". Seriously?? No, it does not look beautiful, it is an eyesore! This is not a big City like Washington! This roundabout idea/project is in my opinion a gross neglect of monies awarded this area and the TAXPAYER'S have spoken! We do not want nor do we need yet another stupid roundabout! Support local business! Did the city Corning or even Ithaca put them in? Hell no! Meet with the powers that be in the City of Corning and use some of their great ideas! They are thriving, their roads are a hell of a lot better and they don't have nearly the crappy properties we have here! Folks, pay close attention to all this "grant" money! We need to get more involved and speak up about where EVERY dollar of it goes! NO MORE ROUNDABOUTS!!

Please spend the money on something more useful. My husband and I avoid Maple Ave now because the roundabouts are so annoying. I will now avoid driving through that downtown intersection for the same reason. I live north of the proposed roundabout. It gives me one more reason to find goods and services in Horseheads . Why do Elmira planners have a death wish? Try to make Elmira more accessible - not less!

I cannot believe this option is even being entertained. Not to mention the amount of money it will cost when so many roads in Elmira are in such bad driving condition and need to be replaced. The traffic you favours on Maple Ave are an atrocity. This looks like it would be a much bigger version of it. The Maple Ave circles actually increase noise pollution because of all the slow g down and speeding back up. My aunt lives on one of the corners. Her house is set back from the road and you used to just hear a little traffic noise. Now motorcycles and trucks are so noisy when re-accelerating that you sometimes cannot hear people talk when on her front porch. I would say that is definitely a property value decreaser... Just what Elmira needs.

Obviously those who have proposed this roundabout have decided that a local business is not a priority, in addition to that the wasteful spending of tax payers dollars. Is it any wonder our community doesn't thrive? Look around our neighborhoods..failing roads, very few local business, non existent downtown area. Who is really moving this forward? Shame on them.

City officials need to use their heads to keep local businesses growing, not potentially damage them.

Round abouts are not only useless but in no way shape or form have any connection to connecting the college to downtown Elmira. Save the money and use it to bring business back to the area.

This will not "better" our community, I worry about the safety of pedestrians, and impact on local businesses.

Put the $20,000+ the city has to pay for this to better use.

The City of Elmira needs to get it together. You messed up Maple Ave. and have yet to fix that. Do something we actually need and make better use of our tax money. Please get your heads out of your butts. Thanks.

Isn't it time we stand united? The idea of a small town is to support local businesses! It is time to support the people that have stayed, loved this town, stayed to raise families, start local businesses, despite the loss of industry in the town, despite the tragedy of the flood, Support the tried-and-true,The ones that stayed with honor,Love thy neighbor, unite! And push forward…Must we all fall victim to commercialism? It is the local businesses and the local people that are here to build on. Not to drive them out! Rethink the long term. A roundabout is not going to change Elmira. It will change the lives of the local people that have been here to support it. Is it worth it?
