Tell the City of Elmira NO to a Roundabout on North Main Street!

As an Elmira resident I think the implementation of a roundabout at the North Main Street fork could be best described as "stupid". If anything roundabouts in this city are a burden to traffic and only a source of frustration to drivers.

Our tax paying dollars could go to better use! There are so many roads that need to be repaved and things to be repaired around the city. Give the round abouts a rest! They are not in the least bit needed in the city!

Absolutely do not want this in our town! If we want to connect back to our cultural influences, why are we trying our hardest to stream line people past our local business, and hand them to McDonalds or a gas mart. Promote local business, don't accommodate to the big business!

Waste of money! Wouldn't money be better spent fixing pot holes, cleaning up Hawthorne Court, strengthening law enforcement..just to name a few. Also waiting until after 10 months to let anyone know of this proposal is shady an unethical. This will most likely deter new business from coming to the area if the people running the city cannot be trusted. I hope businesses look into their legal rights with the court system to see what can be done since ample notice wasn't given to them.

I am a delivery driver for FedEx in the Elmira area and this will not improve what is already a terrible city to try and drive through. Just like all of the round about a on maple. They do nothing but slow down the flow of traffic and cause confusion between drivers. How about we use our tax dollars wiser and try to clean up the city a bit more.

No roundabout needed in that area, along with the useless ones on Maple Ave, this be another waste of money that could be used for many other projects.

Ridiculous...neighborhood streets need resurfacing badly before installing another Roundabout. I would rather see the city spend the money to remove the roundabouts on Maple Ave.

No. Those things are dangerous and slow everything down, in high traffic areas or high speed roads. Foolish waste of money, time and everyone's patience.

Insurance Journal Did a study on nys round abouts....Studies show they increase the risk of motor vehicle accidents..

There is no reason to spend the money that was given to help elmira to put in a ridiculous roundabout that will cause more accidents than anything else. It's a waste of time and money put the money to better use and help out the school district or local businesses.

Round abouts are absolutely stupid in elmira. Not only are they a nuisance but most drivers don't know how to use them or don't care & just go over thrm. Patrons of local stores near potential round about will go else vs having to deal with them. Then you will lose businesses in the area instead of encouraging business to come into elmira .
