Tell Ministry of Defence to Take Colchester Middlewick ranges off the for sale list

The housing plan is going to out to much pressure on the surrounding roads adding to the already extremely high traffic. It will out pressure on the local schools and DR's which is already struggling along with the hospital that again doesn't have enough beds as it is. It seems when planning is thought about none of this is considered otherwise we would have more hospitals and doctors surgerys being built. The land should be saved as green land make a nature reserve to attract more family outings which in turn can help towards childhood education etc.

Please don’t take away our green space There is no infrastructure for more houses with roads schools doctors dentists hospitals the list goes on and on There is so much wildlife you will kill too

There is now way the local schools go surgerys the local hospital could deal with a 1000 homes on average creating possibly 3000/4000 people depending on the size of the family's thease things need improvement before even thinking of adding more people to an over stretched service. As for the roads with the extra traffic created this will clearly have an effect on response times for are emergency services trying to reach people in need.

This is an important area for wildlife which will be devastated by building. Colchester has already built many thousands of houses over the last few years and this is not a good site for a new devlopment. There is no infastructure. This land should be gifted to the people of Colchester to be turned into a nature reserve.

Let's not lose sight of the SSI and the abundance of highly precious flora and fauna that cannot be reinstated from under tarmac and concrete. This site is of high omportance for wildlife and should not be built upon.

This site is a great and diverse wildlife habitat. In the spring there are many nightingales nesting there. There are other rare species that live there all year round. Human activity is causing the serious loss and reduction the of many species. The wick should be preserved.

We need to protect the wick for wildlife & for our children/ Granchildren! Too much of our grassland is being Ripped up for housing ( 90% private dwelling) Makes me so ANGRY

I believe that Fingrinhoe ranges would be much more suitable for housing. Also, there is the issue of animals that were killed for foot and mouth disease being buried over there.

We don't need them nor are they wanted

Just pure madness, the roads are already gridlocked around this area several times a day / week so more houses without surrounding improvement of infrastructure is as I started off saying pure madness. The Hythe is gridlocked, Brook Street is gridlocked, St Andrews Avenue gridlocked, Hythe Hill gridlocked now so where is all this new traffic going to go. Doctors surgeries in the area are also struggling, schools are not big enough to accommodate existing children now in the area, just pure madness! I don't and will never ever support destroying greenspaces, wildlife and their habitat.

The idea will not work because the area cannot cope with the additional traffic. There are no addition doctors services nor schools. The mersea cannot be widend without great exepence. There is also the point already made by father tilbrook that the land is owned by the community and so any profit is due the people .

I am against the idea of building a thousand houses on Middlewick range. This a very important open space for the people of Colchester. And a haven for all sorts of wildlife.

Plan has problems with lack of understanding of decontamination, transport links, sewage treatment, schools, Doctors surgeries etc

This is very important to me to keep this a green place. I suffer with mixed anxiety and depression, it’s good to walk on there and escape. There’s enough traffic to deal with at this side of town and having a 1000 more homes. Pointless to put homes here. Colchester is already packed as it is.

take it of the for sale list and turn it into a country park

I support the plan to save the Middlewick ranges as open natural spaces for future generations to enjoy. Colchester already has a number of brown sites which could be developed (Cowdray Avenue, behind the Range for example) and which have been vacant for years.

Take middkewick off the table

A nature reserve would be the very best solution.

We are already choking with excessive traffic and too many new builds in this area, it's time to stop!
