Tell Ministry of Defence to Take Colchester Middlewick ranges off the for sale list

Hugely important wildlife area and open space - lets keep it that way.

The Ranges are part of a larger interdependent eco system which supports a large number of birds, insects, animals and plants on the red list. The plan will destroy the nesting places of the skylarks.

It should be left for a natural habitat. Definitely not a good place for houses

Save the lovely wildlife please! Build on brownfield sites first!

Remember that there are many flora and fauna there which are rare and need of protection. There is also buried foot and mouth contaminated carcases here and some small amount of mod waste buried also

This area is loved and needed by locals and wildlife alike. its a beautiful green space where folks can walk their dogs, share the wonders of the diversity of flora and fauna this area has in abundance. Due to the area not having any infrastructure in place and it being an area that has longstanding public rights of way, plus there would have to be a deep extensive clean up of the ground soil due to many things being buried and left over many years of use it will be exhorbent in costs to do all this preparation and that would mean the build would be un profitable and uneconomical. Aside from this it also provides trees which in turn help with the air quality that is increasingly poorer due to the high volumes of traffic this side of town, two main roads run right along side the MiddleWick ranges - these roads are constantly under bombardment of heavy traffic. The traffic and the air pollution will increase massively if this vital green space is built upon. If it is built upon it also will put further pressure on our already struggling infrastructure- to the point of breakdown. There is no need to take this green space and build on it when there are so many other places that already have part build and part infrastructure in place- use those areas - it makes sense on every level from finance to health to do so. The sensible solution is to take the sale of middlewick Ranges off the table and designate the Middlewick ranges to be one of the following- a nature reserve-a country park- or made to be common land with a permanent unmoveable covenant that it shall remain as such and never be utilised for another purpose such as housing or industry.

We need more wild spaces.

We did not need more houses we need more open spaces like our wick

We need air and space, not congestion and anger.

Save our Beautiful wick. Such a lovely place to walk.

We need our green space for families to walk and enjoy our wildlife need somewhere to live

we need green spaces, Colchester already builds above it's quota annually, build on brownfield sites and allow nature to thrive in peace on the wick (good for humans too)

This isn't going to help anyone in Colchesterm

It is an important green space supporting wildlife and the local community. There also isn't adequate infrastructure, especially on the roads, to support such a development.

This is a great green space. For wildlife. Dog walking. And for families to walk and exercise. We do not want more green open space to be built on.

This cannot go ahead in many ways, transportation, infrastructure, schools etc etc, this part of town just cannot take it, country park though now you are talking, keep building and more people will come,we need to slow population growth and support our environment.

The wick must be saved for the wildlife people to walk there dogs .and any history that the wick holds. If it goes head which I really hope it does not then traffic will be horrendous . And for future generations to enjoy we dont need any more house built.anywhere.
