You've had the use of this wonderful green space for many when it was gifted to you. Please now hand it back to Colchester residents so we can protect the valuable wildlife that has developed and people can walk in a beautiful place knowing its very existence is playing a vital part in helping our planet. Please don't sell it to developers polluting our environment and putting unimaginable strain on our vital services. Our GPs, hospitals and schools are struggling already with the massive development around us.

This land must not be built on - it is too vital for wildlife

This is the only green lung for the houses that are already in the area. More houses means more cars and more pollution. The Mersea Road is already a bottle neck at peak times and people living off Mountbatten Drive struggle to get onto Abbots Road at any time now as the traffic is a constant stream.

Do not build houses on the wick, there are lots of animals living on the wick. Have you tried to drive anywhere in colchester its a nightmare as overstretched already, what would it be like with more homes, and that's without schools hospitals doctors etc to accommodate the extra tons of people! SAVE THE WICK!!

The town has been developed more than enough over recent years with the infrastructure buckling under the strain. Another 1000 homes will only add to the traffic, oversubscribed schools, full car parks and a strained hospital. Enough is enough!!!

Totally wrong to have a housing development in this location....MOD has sold significant amount of property (Garrison) in Colchester. Middlewick needs to be a country park/ woodland to offset carbon emissions!

Save our green spaces. There are already far too many houses in Colchester for its size and infrastructure

Save our green spaces, this horrendous building project should not be allowed. There are already far too many houses in Colchester for its size and infrastucture

It would be such s shame to lose the wick. It is good for everyone, not including all the wildlife. They are always talking of planting new trees in places to improve the environment. Why don't they just stop getting rid of trees that are already there.

It is not the place for a hundred houses let alone 1,000! It will cause even more traffic congestion because each home will have at least one car. Not the place for housing!

It’s a disgrace they should return the land to the care of Colchester for the people of Colchester to protect the flora and fauna that live there.

Wildlife not houses. The infrastructure will not cope.
