Being taken from home in the middle of the night, having time spent in juvenile hall and missing the last month of the school year is enough punishment for a case of reckless texting and poor judgement. Taking into consideration the context and the characters of the boys involved,New Brighton Middle School and its students and staff was never the target of any legitimate threat. Henry Castaniada is just covering his bases by setting an extreme example. Show support for the other victims of this schoolwide travesty and tell Mr. Castaniada to let the boys return to school in the fall. They have learned their lesson, it's time to let these families return to normalcy.

Yes - ridiculous. This was purely political and these kids were used as pawns. That's what Henry does. Thank god he's leaving this community.

Lesson learned!! harmless kids made impulsive comments, not to be taken this far. Let them return in the fall! Keeping them from their educational environment will not resolve anything. let's use this opportunity to remind and teach our kids the importance of responsibility and technology.

I agree, they should be allowed to return in the fall

Treating 13-year-olds like they're adults? A case of political grandstanding.

I fully agree. The punishment does not fit the "crime".

This punishment is too excessive.
