As a faculty member at a public university, I urge senators to protect graduate students from this pay cut. We need to expand funding for our students, not cut it.

Please do not allow tuition remission to be taxed. It is hard enough to make it as a student, why put another obstacle in front of our nation's youth to further challenge them?

Taxing Ph.D. students' tuition will only deter America's best and brightest from research careers that advance science, provide solutions for costly public health concerns, and keep the US competitive in the global technology market. Either that, or they will move to another country for education and/or a career. Don't be responsible for a massive brain drain. Vote NO.
