Many of my patients are extremely anxious about the pandemic and need care. I have invested money and time above my usual expenses to provide quality HIPPA protected care for them.

If anything, working remotely with our clients is more challenging than ever when done remotely. I am shocked and disheartened to hear that some insurance companies pay less for telehealth services.

Mental health and substance abuse care is essential health care. There is no difference in my time or effort in providing telehealth vs in -person services. Even Anthem promotes telehealth as a service of equal value. It is unconscionable that they would offer reduced reimburement for telehealth services.

We are doing the same work and assuming same level of responsibility and liability. So why shouldn’t we get paid the same

we are providing the same type of work, the same time and the health insurance have the moral obligation to pay us the providers at the same rate as in person.

Without this, clients will continue to suffer without needed services.

This is so important! Also, why are providers being expected to shoulder the burden of waived co-payments? For shame, Anthem.

Please do this now! It is not fair patients receive an extra financial burden at this time in order to maintain their care, especially when they need the support now more than ever!

Telehealth provides safe care for patients. But it is certainly not cheaper to provide. And psychologists still have to pay office rent.

Please fight for us to get equal reimbursement for telehealth sessions. We work just as hard with the client in these sessions and some aspects require more energy to keep engagement.

It is times like these that our communities need even MORE mental health support. In person, or on the phone, a provider is putting as much time, heart and soul into their patients' care

It actually takes me more energy to stay in connection with clients via the telehealth platform, which means I am working harder than when I'm actually with the client in the same room. I'm also paying for two video platforms, so that if one fails, I have a back up. This lower reimbursement is not how you recognize professionals who are doing "essential" service for those who are fragile in a time of need.
