It is my duty to provide therapy to my clients especially in this time of great crisis putting aside my own struggles with the unknown. People are frightened and alone. We will get to our clients however is possible. At this time that is exclusively through telehealth. The reimbursement rates for these critical services should match the fees determined prior to this corona virus. We all need to give our very best. That includes insurance companies.

Please support us in earning our contracted fees. I am providing mental health services to those who have lost their jobs and those who are struggling. I am providing the same service and I’m giving my clients 100%.
I’m sure Anthem is paying their employees the same, and they have not lowered each individuals monthly premium.

Therapy is a necessary service for people in crisis and we are now in crisis. Please allow for safe therapy through teletherapy methods. Insist the insurance companies cover this. It is preventative for further mental health emergencies to not develop.

If I'm providing the same care for my patients, who need help now more than ever, there should be no decrease in reimbursement. Are insurance companies charging people less to have their coverage? I doubt it. They just want to pocket as much as they can.

In this time of heightened fear, confusion and uncertainty created by the spreading coronavirus, many therapy patients are experiencing an intensifying of their daily suffering and symptomatology. Therefore it is especially important we find creative ways to stay connected with our patients in this time of crisis. As we shelter in place telepsychology becomes one of the safest and most effective ways to provide ongoing therapy. As therapists we are committed to our patients and are working overtime to be available. We are also suffering financially. Many of us are self-employed and therefore not eligible for typical unemployment benefits. To safeguard our financial livelihood as well as the health of our patients I strongly urge you to require insurance companies to reimburse for Telepsychology at their usual rates – – for both in network and this is critical, out of network providers, too.

I whole heartedly agree with all the comments noted already. Politicians often cite the lack of health care (wether it be affordable, accessible or quality) as a reason we have crises in this country - everything from mass shootings to suicide. And this situation right here are exactly the barriers we healthcare providers are well aware of and have been fighting against for years. Therapists become the "middle management" of the healthcare system, often having to take a decrease in pay to provide necessary services that are "life saving", but at a cost to themselves. The amount of hours we spend fighting insurance companies to get paid fairly, advocate, run our businesses and treat clients leads to immense burn out and inability to do what politicians claim we should be doing. And all because big insurance companies want to profit off of people's ill health. The "cost" of providing mental health care is so much more than the reimbursement rate we receive, and the lack of respect for the services provided shows the extreme nature of misguided values in our country.
