This parity is critical to the delivery of mental health services in this time of crisis. Please do not let insurance companies to take advantage of a disturbing and distressing time. In order to be good public health citizens, we must deliver services via telehealth, and are providing the same level of services regardless of location. Please do the right thing. We are working just as hard if not even harder under such stressful times with more demand and clients needs our services and depend on us to contain their hurt, anxieties, guilt, shame, happiness, sadness, love, grief and other emotions and needs when they and others can’t hold it!

Clearly if it was safe for patients to come in and for providers to be there in person we would all do so. The reimbursed clearly should the same as in-person rates during this crisis.

Managing stress is of the highest priority right now for everyone and the needs of those getting mental health care need to be a priority; all therapists are doing the same work with clients via Telehealth, are working overtime to make this all happen, and don't get financial breaks with rent or any other overhead!

Insurance companies need to reimburse telehealth sessions at the same rate as in-person sessions. Telehealth is the only responsible choice with COVID and we should not be penalized for providing this essential service in a safe way. Furthermore, mental health practices are facing economic losses, so the discrepency in telehealth coverage adds insult to injury!

It is absolutely unethical for insurance companies to pay less for professional mental health services because it is telemedicine! Telemedicine is supposed to be removing barriers to clients accessing quality services, not creating more barriers. Clients shouldn't have to stop seeing their current therapist to now start over and be seen by a new clinician who is in network with the insurance companies preferred network. CT psychologists and clinical social workers should not be forced to accept lower reimbursement rates and have even more of a financial strain put on them because the insurance companies can dictate low reimbursement rates. It's like price gouging!
