Cyclists of Northbrook have a vision for a 1-mile trail near Willow Festival in Northbrook, IL. This would connect a total of 5 miles of path for walking, runningand cycling through Northbrook and Glenview in Illinois.The trail, dubbed the Techny River Trail, would run along side the river and parallel Founders Drive to become part of theChicago River Bicycle Trail. This is a natural migratory areas for birds and wildlife and won't be developed as it is a flood plane. The Village of Northbrook and stakeholders have been contacted, but wide community support and interest is needed. Go Green Northbrook volunteers are working to assure that this project is realized. Please join us with your support by signing this petition in favor of the Techny River Trail.

I have finalized the formal proposal document for the Village Board regarding the Techny River Trail connection. This packet will be delivered to planning officials during our upcoming meeting to illustrate the necessity of linking these path segments.

Living in glenview and riding my bike through here all the time, this would be such a huge improvement. Makes total sense to connect the paths.
AWESOME project! cant wait to see this happen, it would be so nice to have a safe way to get to the willow festival area without being on the main road.

This is a great idea, it allows people the leisure of getting out and being active while enjoying a beautiful view and immersing yourself in Mother Nature.
