I think that after certain amount of years a teacher gets exhausted especially now with the amount of challenging behaviours we are facing everyday. So this would be ideal.

Like any other person in the public service we should benefit from the retirement scheme, especially because when we get older the generation gap is felt much more and we start getting too tired to keep up with the energy of the kids especially younger ones.

I have been 21 years in service and just 40. I cannot imagine how harder it will be when I am I my 50s let alone

I am a teacher. I love doing the job and I love giving my 100 per cent, but sometimes I feel drained. Our job doesn't finish at 14:30. I cannot immaġina myself at 65 still doing the job. I think that students deserve fresher teachers, even though from year to year I've been doing my best to keep them always motivated. Thank you!

This is especially applicable to Kindergarten teachers. We cannot keep up with 20 children aged between 4-5 years when we are in our 50s and 60s.

I honestly think that it is not healthy neither for the children nor for the teacher to keep on teaching until she is 60/65 years old. Unfortunately the children aren't the same as they used to be 20 years ago. I have been only teaching for 4 years and I can say that I won't be able to teach for more than 10 years more. It's becoming too much and unfortunately we are not paid enough.

A choice as to what to do after 25 years of service makes sense. Teachers experience burnout.
