We need to make sure that people outside the educational world fully grasp what is happening within it!

Once a teacher, always a teacher ... what is happening now, to the hard working and dedicated teachers in our schools, disgusts me!

We also need a clear, positive public voice for the profession to counter the continual political attacks on the profession. This petition is one way of uniting all who work in education at a time when state provision is being systematically dismantled.

I'm not a teacher, but as a parent I support this campaign as I want my children to have a positive experience of school and leave education having fostered a desire to continue learning, with an understanding of themselves and the environment in which we live, and the ability to use the skills and knowledge gained. School leaders and staff are hard pressed to provide that kind of learning environment at the moment. Although many still do achieve this, the culture in our education system should be one of enabling all schools and their pupils, not benefitting some at the expense of others. Definitely time for a whole system view and a change in the debate.

I'm in my NQT year and I have already witnessed new teachers leaving the profession; with countless others following at the end of the academic year. When will someone realise that this current government is distroying our children's education by fourcing good/great teachers to leave. The pressures we are under strain us the the point of collapse; as a house of cards will tumble when the lower levels collapse so to will the system we are currently in. We knew our jobs of caring, supporting and educating our children would not be an easy one. But thank you Goves and Co you have made it almost impossible. But almost suggest you haven't beaten us yet. With our passion, solidarity and drive you can bring the fight because we are ready.

We cannot sit back and wait for the landscape to shift. We have to be part of the landscape design team.

when will we learn that to be a teacher you have to have special qualities, be giving and selfless, so when will the government lesrn to give time, support and encouragement to teachers; we would not dream of knocking children's self esteem and confidence, so why is it ok to do thst to teachers. is it not correct that individuals flourish when supported, praised and developed. its embarrassing and degrading to persistently hear our own government slsg off their own educators. Lets develop a different culture and attitude.

I became a teacher to make a difference to children's lives. The government is making it much harder to do and we are attacked for trying to improve.

Time to make a stand - the job is being ruined and mad almost impossible to do. Taking too heavy a toll on teachers.

UK should be following the Finnish schools model, not Sweden or Shanghai.

Teachers are guardians of the future - their work with children and young people is crucial AND they are the experts not government.

Education is not a commodity nor is it only of socio-economic value.
