When I look back on my carrer as a teacher, I want to be proud. Under Gove I'm ashamed!

All the point you make are valid and excellently put, but I particularly agree with the sentiment that education should be about developing the individual and not just producing drones for work.

I wanted to be a teacher since I was around 13 and I was inspired to become a History teacher by a History teacher I had at school, but now I don't know what on want to, or what I should, do because our education system is under constant attack and teachers are used as scapegoats by politicians. Children are not statistics, nor are they drones to be churned out for the working world.

I've been a school governor for many years and a parent to five children. Teachers need our support.

Nearly 10 years of teaching physics in south east London. Conflicted, not wanting to abandon my school and students but struggling to remain motivated enough under this current regime. Genuinely worried about the damage being done to our education system under Gove.

When market forces are introduced into education then equity goes out of the window. The constant tests suffered by our children are not for their benefit but for ranking schools. The OECD warned two years ago there was excessive emphasis on exam results in England. Since then the situation has worsened.

Haven't been teaching long but not sure I want to anymore. More than happy to sign this petition.

I am not a teacher. I am a school business manager. What this government, and especially Michael Gove, have done, and continue to do, to the teaching professional quite frankly scares and disgusts me

I'm signing because education MUST not be about one person gaining political credentials with a load of people who don't care about education!

Ban private schools or make all education systems as traditional as the next. Allow every child to reach their potential in a positive learning environment. Support these systems with No nonsense discipline and child/parent psychologists/social workers where there is no shame in receiving help. I'd add a law a parenting course that you have to pass before you can have children, a bit like a driving test, theory and practical! But perhaps that's asking too much!

Stop meddling with the curriculum, stop this ridulous results driven madness and let teachers teach- our focus should be the children and nothing else!
