I was only 13 when I was raped. My rapist was thirteen as well, and didn't understand the concept of consent. Schools in the state of New Jersey need to take this matter into their own hands and start teaching consent rights and sexual abuse education in middle school, or at least forms of it
Seeing the momentum behind this has been completely overwhelming and I truly never imagined so many people would join me in this. This belongs entirely to you for deciding that this conversation is finally worth having.

If schools are involved in just a bit of education on the topic it could significantly help

Consent is so so so important!! And how should anyone be educated on it if their educators aren't teaching them? Great petition

I think this should be taught in schools everywhere. Props to you for finally doing something about the lack of consent and safety in our schools!

This is so overdue. Kids are literally growing up without knowing basic boundaries. So sorry you had to go through that but im glad you are speaking out.
