To the Board of Directors, Temple Beth-El of Birmingham, AL:
1) We urge you to reconsider the term of Cantor Dan Gale's contract.
2) If TBE is unable to support salaries for a rabbi, cantor and education director, the decision about which position to eliminate should be presented to the congregation. This decision is too vital to be made by the board in isolation of input from the dues-paying membership.

I really thought this might just fizzle out in the group chat but the momentum is actually wild right now. It feels like everyone is finally talking about the contract stuff in the lobby and I am just so glad people are paying attention because the board really needs to hear us before they make any permanent cuts.

Ridiculous that we weren't asked about this. Listen to the members for once.
Why is the board making these calls by themselves? The congregation needs a say in this. Keep Cantor Gale!
Cantor Gale needs to stay. Stop trying to push him out.
Cantor Gale brings so much joy and music to our services. It wouldn't feel like the same place without him there. Please reconsider.
Cantor Gale is the heart of our temple. He has been there for my family through every lifecycle event. We absolutely need to keep him.
