Our children benefited from a primary school life at Tanja School where the hall was a focus in their school and community life. It was a stage for their school plays and concerts, a key in community and school gatherings and celebrations. It cemented their experience of living, making and creating in a vibrant artistic small community We cannot lose our ability to share and use such a rare asset in today's world because of short sighted expediency

This shouldn't have to be argued. It should be a given.

Community Halls should be accessible for free for community events and schools

I cannot express my dismay at reading this post. Tanja School and Tanja Hall have always been joined by more than a boundary. Together they have offered a centre from which a true community spirit has always shone. Good luck Tanja. I hope your spirit survives bureaucracy.

Living very local to the Tanja school I value that my son at Tanja school has only a short distance to travel to an intimate but currently well resourced facility. It seems beneficial for both the school and the hall to work together to find a positive solution.

The land on which the hall and school are own was donated by a local family ...the sercombes well before the dept of education and councils had a say. There has always been a strong community link between the hall and school that has been unique to Tanja.

Tanja school has always looked after the hall ( mowing the lawn, bins out, key hire etc) and as a reciprocal arrangement didn't have to pay the fees. Being a small community its the same people doing all of the fundraising for both and it has always worked well in the past. Stay with it.

This is a horrible money grabbing exercise! As a former Tanja student I have great memories of school activities at the hall, never damaging or disrespectful, and am saddened that current and future students will be denied the right of access due to an unwarranted increase in fees. This is our hall.

a fee of $600 is out of step with Community expectation. the Tanja Hall is a commu ity asset. every nail, board and sheet of tin was lovingly provided by and for the people of Tanja. anything other than a very nominal fee is not only insulting, but shows a profound lack of judgement by Council.

For a small communitee school to be charged for the use of a community hall is the dumbrst thing i have ever heard. As a past president of the Tanja Hall Committee, i am shocked to hear of this decision. For over 100 years the school and hall have gone hand in hand as the hub of our villiage community

Affordable access to this Community Hall is critical to support this essential small rural School. It is what the broad community across the BVSC area would expect.

How disgraceful that the School has not been given a special low price to use the Hall. The Hall is so special to all in the Tanja community and has been nurtured and loved by everyone who lives here. The children who live locally are our future.

The reality is that Tanja Hall is the wonderful asset it is because of the sustained community support of it over the last 140 years or so. For a bureaucracy to introduce more than a nominal fee for use by the offspring of this community displays a chronic lack of common sense.

A very dedicated school community provide so much for its students with limited resources That now Bega council want to charge the school to use a community hall is a disgrace

The Hall is practically on the School Grounds. Surely it should be, if not free, just having a minimum fee for cleaning and maintenance?

Surely this can be an acception as the hall was meant for the community.

A rural and remote school in a small community benefits greatly having access to the local hall. The school is the centre of the community. What benefit is it to the BVSC to reduce the support of the public school in such a way?
