I am so saddened by the hall committee's decision to TRIPLE the fees for the school's access to the hall. I would love to see a return of the positive and symbiotic relationship between the hall and school as in years gone by. I sincerely hope Council will support Tanja PS and keep the fees accessible.

It takes a whole community to raise a child that is creative, balanced, engaged & the best they can be. As a rate-payer I want to see a special effort to prioritise access for our children to our community's resources - amongst the benefits, encouraging a strong sense of belonging & community.

for the last 100 years or so tanja hall & tanja school have been best friends. we have worked with the hall committee to keep the hall maintained & supported. this current situation is very distressing as it is dividing the community. an agreement really needs to be made regarding the school use of the hall before it gets to the absolutely ridiculous stage. a common fee for all schools who use their local halls would be ideal. small schools such as tanja do not have an enormous budget & $600- plus would be better spent on the education of the students rather than hall hire.

The school is so small, it needs all the help we can give it. The hall is an important part of the school culture.

Is this the first time that the Bega Valley shire has charged Tanja school for the use of the hall? I think such a charge is outrageous especially when the school may only use the hall once a week.

I am very disappointed that the good relationship between the Tanja School and the community hall has deteriorated after over 100 years of a good mutually respectful relationship.

The hall and school go hand in hand, it is beyond belief that the school would have to start to pay to use the hall after so many years of use. In such a small community where every resorce is a valued commodity it's just not justifiable....
