I don't understand why y'all would do this, the county VFD should be the 1st responders, because they are the closes to the county if someone get a severely injured, and very ill, they can't get there quickly and hopefully save someone life.

A life could be saved by a volunteer firefighter, they are closer to your community and most know how to get to every place there is. It takes so long for an Ems to get here its crazy. Someone could lose their life due to the time it takes for an Ems to get here when it takes the volunteer fire department the matter of minutes. This new "rule" in my opinion is quiet stupid.

Notify the VFD's! They are our neighbors and care about the people in our community! Waiting for an ambulance in rural communities could be too long of a wait! This board does not have its citizens best interests in mind. I am disgusted by this decision.

We had had to call several times with my mother-in-law due to cancer. Each time RENFROE Volunteer Fire has gotten to us a good 30 minutes before the ambulance.

Regardless of the training level and skill of a volunteer department, any first responder is better than nothing. Most volunteer departments are very good at what they do and save lives on a regular basis. Don't discredit a department based on their budget or salary. These departments do a lot of good in their community and should be allowed to continue to help.

My mom would have died sooner if it was for volunteer fire department's they saved her life on more the one time before she had a massive heart attack

I myself was a volunteer fire fighter for Sycamore fire . Andrea Payne and Kieth Brasher along with several others were awesome to serve with in our community. They always did the best they could to help everyone in need. Taking away time with families and work to serve others. A person gives a lot of their self to help in the community when they volunteer. But they would not have it any other way they love what they do.
