VFD's give up there off time and family time for others for free. I think we should stand behind them!

As a former firefighter with County line and OakGrove volunteer fire departments I am saddened to see this happening. While a member I've ran multiple medical calls that without a volunteer response the paitents condition could have been seriously worsened.

Our VFD's are so important to our community we urge you include them as 1st responders. As a family member of an accident victim, they were the 1st ones on the scene because the "paid" responders were to far away.
Our VFD's are more than qualified to handle calls and should be called because time is very valuable & our VFD 's are equipped to handle 911 calls also.

I am a well trained volunteer fire fighter in both fire and EMS and I personally have saved lives while waiting for the ambulance to arrive. We are not wanting to take the place of the ambulance, just wanting to assist the community while waiting for the ambulance to arrive!

Having received medical care from volunteer firefighters, I am disgusted with the thought that anyone is trying to remove them from the picture.

I've been trained as first responder. When I was in fire department. That is the basic to start training. It is helpful and very much need to assist the patient till ambulance can get there and then Assistance crew for quicker care and in some cases the weight of patient.

911 has no authority to DICTATE who does and who does not have the privilege to run calls. The citizens pay fire dues. It is THEIR rights. If the fire departments want to set their own response protocols then so be it. But 911 is there to help citizens not hinder them more than they already do.
