It is my understanding that all volunteer fireman have first responder training which could save the life of an individual. Life cannot not be replaced if ambulance is not immediately available. I know there has been times when only two ambulances are in talladega county. Can they save as many lives as multiple volunteer fire departments . No

i was a volunteer firefighter myself for Fayetteville and it just takes to long for Sylacauga or Childersburg to get to this area and I would want the volunteers to come to my aid if I needed help...

A CPR trained volunteer is better than nothing when a person goes into cardiac arrest.. Capt. Chris Carpenter, BS, NRP Pelham Fire Department

What I would like the Board to take into account is the fact that it is better to HAVE help and not need it, than to NEED help and not have it!

The ambulance services are never going to be able to live up to the contracted response times. They're overworked and understaffed as it is. Volunteer first responders have the best chance of assessing the situation and providing needed care until the ambulance can get there.

This is insane... No one realizes how important it is for the vfd to be allowed to answer calls... That could save someone's life... I dern sure don't want to wait on sylacauga to get here

Why change to a guaranteed no response from the VFD. Ambulance is coming no mater what but vfd is closer.

Both of my children's families live close to a VFD in Talladega County. Looks like my grandchildren will need to learn their number first then 911. Why was this decision made?

This is Crazy. How could you actually believe that not having a first responder would be good for your community.

What good does it do for me to have the training to save someone's life if no one tells me your life needs saving?
