Education of short term use of these drugs is needed. Doctors need to evaluate each person and go over past health problems more effectively . More help and research for withdrawal.

Doctors seriously need to be educated in Benzodiazepine subscribing and tapering They also need to start being honest about the horrendous withdrawal symptoms.

This kind of action and awareness is the most important thing we can do right now. Mental illness is all but being ignored in the US and is being caused by BIG PHRMA and arrogant doctors GPs that know crap about this. Benzodiazepines and a misdiagnosis of my husband has ruined both of our lives for close to 10 years. It’s so unfair and unjust and I’m so sorry to everyone.

14 months into withdrawal, having been prescribed 14 different Benzo/ssri’s over a 17 year period. Horrific experience, really not enough space here to try to explain the true horror and desolation of withdrawal.

I take a number of antidepressants/antipsychotic drugs which have horrendous side effects so I am trying to withdraw but get absolutely no support

A service like this is so needed. I did not realise until I was wrongly diagnosed with a mental health issue, and anxiety after GP abruptly stopped my thyroid medication after taking it for 13 years. My body went into overdrive and I lost nearly 2 stone, ended up in a mental health ward for 4 weeks, where I was given Pregabalin.
It is only now that I realise the indications of this drug. Am suffering loads of side effects and dread coming off. Trying to get GP to restore thyroid medication after 3 Consultant Psychiatrists have requested my GP restart meds. But GP point blank refuses. There is nowhere to go for help, GP's are useless when it comes to knowledge of these drugs.
I think GP's should not prescribe any drug unless they have complete knowledge of them and know how to come off them if needed. Also they should be prepared to give the very needed support to their patients, which is sadly lacking at the moment.

Forty-five years of psych drugs. Frequent abrupt discontinuations, bridging, kindling, rapid withdrawals, and poly-drugging to a critical degree has destroyed me and nearly cost my life many times.
