Currently tapering off venlafaxine very slowly. Withdrawal symptoms from this drug can be horrendous if done too quickly. Most GPs do not show awareness or understanding of this and often advise a taper which is too quick.

I am probably mildly addicted to benzodiazepines. These were prescribed, then doctors began to "tell me off" for needing the very drug they had given me! I do not take many, but live in dread of being told I can't have any! I fully support this initiative and petition.

This is absolutely vital for providing much needed help for those suffering from taking prescribed drugs. This is a human rights issue. No one should have to suffer through the hell of withdrawal or from their adverse effects.

I was harmed by psych drugs in my 30s and now I am 57 and two decades free from them. I was never mentally ill. I was severely injured in an equestrian accident then plied with these pills on a misdiagnosis.
The pills made me "mentally ill".
As I say now, "Psych drugs are Neurotoxins which mutilate the brain and reduce life expectancy by a third". This is accurate and provable. I am only alive today because I ditched the pills. Friends of mine have died who were on these psych drugs. I have outlived them and count myself lucky that I survived the withdrawals which were unimaginably hellish and very painful.
