A medically supervised Effexor withdrawal of 5-6 days in 2011 was devastatingly damaging to my health ergo life. I have yet to heal or have a sense of full official claim over my life due to not only the corruption that led me to be on this drug but also the corruption involved in the handling of my situation by the medical system. This situation is a common one & numbers are in the multiple millions - which is never acceptable. Like so many others I needed a place to go that would recognise the dangers of these drugs & of the withdrawal process. There is no guaranteed ahead of time “*safe*” taper.

Informed consent these days is a joke. It's a great idea to have an independent group keep watch on this area who don't have conflicts of interest like many if not most of our doctors now do. We clearly can't trust physicians to protect us from harm. A citizen group makes a lot of sense!

These drugs are not meant to be taken for more than a couple of weeks and even then a person can become dependent. Also, our drs never gave us informed consent, meaning we understand this is not for long-term use. Further more our drs are not educated in tapering us off safely. This is an awful hell going through benzodiazepine withdrawal. There is no such thing as a low dose.

These drugs are extremely addictive, and there is horrendous suffering while taking them or trying to come of of them. They truly should be banned ! So many people lost their lives due to them. It is criminal what is happening!

I'm really against the use of opioids. There's to many people that get them innocently prescribed for pain then end up addicted and some even overdose without even realizing it
I myself practice meditation and get unbelievable results.

Ive never known of so many folks suffering on & tapering off these meds so so many have taken there own lives or loved ones with them from PHarmas deadly piosin..☠.ENOUGH !!!!
