Moved to Redding in '76 and am devasted by what has happened to our beautiful town. Being in the Healthfield, it saddens me to watch our fellow Physicians and Therapists leaving for a safer place to grow a family.

No new guns laws for those abiding by the law already is going to keep guns out of any criminals hands! If they want to get a gun they will. Regardless of the law.

I've lived in Redding since 1982. The downward spiral in just the last 5 years has been absolutely disheartening! There has to be a change in this city, it's becoming a place where we cannot trust anyone and can't feel safe anywhere.

I was appalled to hear on the radio this morning you are going to stop the welfare reform act. This means no more MFG children. This means more and more babies will become a benefits check to the generational welfare population. It also means more of a burden on the tax payers who are left. This is more breeding of criminals. This means an influx of out of state welfare recipients. I understand you are also going to stop the five year time out peripd for adults. This will open up another can of worms. With an already overburdened welfare system feeding the drug addicted with food stamps they mostly ise to trade for drugs, cigarettes, and alcohol; you will bankrupt our state. More and more of the working class will leave this state. I know we are. We are preparing now because we know it's only going to get worse. Free veterinary services for homeless with pets? This was our breaking point. I work for local government and my job is no longer worth it because of the increasing minimum wage for people who are unskilled, uneducated, and ungrateful. I didn't like you before and I like you even less now. I grew up in Northern CA and I can't even run to the grocery store at night because of the criminal transient population. Our recreational facilities are ruined by illegal campers. Our once beautiful river is lined with trash, old bedding, broken shopping carts, and drug paraphenalia. You have broken our beautiful State of CA. We are disgusted. Ashamed. Angry.

I was born and raised here and simply can't believe what I see every day on the streets. Our town was not like this until AB109. Our neighborhoods are unsafe. We all feel unsafe in our own homes and simply going to the grocery store. There are no words for my disgust in trading money for the county for the safety of our citizens. Shame on Jerry Brown. Let him move here. Into a regular middle class neighborhood and see if he sings the same tune. Creep.
