Rivi has always been a special and unique place. The lifelong dedication to keeping Rivi special by Ed and other longtime staff members is what makes Rivi unique. IT would be unthinkable to let go of that kind of love and dedication! Ed is the heart and soul of RIVI!

I am really worried about the future of the Rivi. Our membership is not doing well enough to withstand decisions being made that cause the staff and the members to be so unhappy. The bulk of the feedback from the board was to join the board and attend board meetings, but I fear there needs to be action sooner. Rivi does not have enough going for it to do this to the aquatics staff, which most of us joined because of them.

My four kids learned competiveness, teamwork,developed lifelong friendships and many important "life skills" at Rivi under the caring eyes of the excellent staff who made it so much fun they kept wanting more.. They are "Rivi".

We joined because of Ed. We stayed because of Ed. My boys both learned to swim and enjoy swimming because of Ed. We are currently looking at other options (regrettably). My sentiments mirror those of Mary Beth Browne.

There were about 100 members there Monday night. Lots of questions were asked regarding a variety of issues and the board was very vague and dismissive, not answering questions. We would like as many people as possible to attend multiple meetings so that our concerns can continue to be expressed.

I have no idea what is going on here...sounds like Ed has been let go?...I have been a member of Rivi since 1970. I am signing this so I can find out what is going on. If I am a member and we all own this club...I am not sure why members have not received updates?? I strongly support Ed, believe he is vital to Rivi and the neighborhood supporting it. Mr. Avery is a personal friend and I have no knowledge of any of what has gone on...But Ed is the best!

As an employee and member of Rivi I call for the removal of Brian Avery as General Manager or Rivi and for the reinstatement of Ed Ahlbrand. As an employee, I have been lied to, by Brian, on numerous ocassions and have seen his failure to follow-up on promises to both the staff and members.

I became a member this summer by way of my husband and his boys. They have been a part of Rivi swimming for a long time and Ed was key in teaching them. I personally had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know a bit of him this summer when I brought my two children to the Rivi as well. Ed was ALWAYS there, always going above and beyond to help members and their children. He made it fun for the kids and I can't imagine Rivi without him.

I don't personally know anything about the allegations against Bryan Avery. I am signing this petition to show my strong support of Ed Ahlbrand. To the Board of Directors of Rivi, Ed is an amazing swimming teacher and awesome person. I know many people who belong to Rivi just so their children can take lessons from Ed or participate in Water Wizards (and because they belong to other country clubs, if he is gone, they are gone). Honestly, he is my favorite thing about Rivi and I cannot believe you would even entertain the thought of letting him get away.

October 2 at 10:30 am and October 9 at 7pm in the upstairs dining facility to address your concerns directly.
