Take action against legal loopholes

The Government should take all necessary steps to facilitate the development of these projects. For the economy of a first world country to grow in a sustainable manner, mere fishing and tourism are not enough. Think about it and act.

The Carmichael coal project will create more employment . Queensland govt has to support on this.

I was reading through the views of Mr. Abbot (PM of Australia) on the Carmichael Mine Project. It is indeed a loss to the two nations, Australia and India. I strongly believe that it is the common people, at both ends, getting affected.

The so called environmental activists do not understand the fact that for solar & wind projects to succeed, they need the coal and gas power stations to be kept warm i.e. burn fuel and not generate electricity at their full capacity, so they can be ramped up at very short notice when there is cloud cover, when sun doesn't shine or when wind doesn't blow. These are causing more pollution not less. It doesn't make environmental or economic sense to switch to these energy sources now. If we can develop a genuine low cost green alternative to coal, I'm all for it. Until then let the coal generators invest in better technology USC plants to reduce emissions.

The hypocrisy of the green groups astounds me – driving around in their cars with “Stop Coal Mining and Coal Seam Gas” signs. How do they think the car would have been made without mining?? Integrated and educated approach to development will ensure preservation of our environmental values and will allow progress in our and other countries. But how do you integrate with groups abusing their democratic freedom of speech by spreading misinformation and pushing their sponsor’s alternative agendas, while hiding behind the cover of “environment protectors”.

Projects of this nature are vital to create employment and much needed revenue for Queensland and the country as a whole. India isn't going to stop using coal and they will get their coal elsewhere

There has to be a collective voice on building resource industry. The project like Carmichael Coal Project can support many more mine projects in region with shared infrastructure and thus creating thousands of jobs. This can happen only with strong coordination and action by state and federal team. Government needs to support the industry which is consistent in creating long term and sustainable jobs and wellbeing of Thousands of Australian families.

Stand up to stop these actions by people with vested interests camouflaged as Green groups and determined to deny Australians jobs and prosperity.

these tactics need to be halted now this is not a professional approach by this group who have proven they will stop at nothign to win even is it effects thousands of peoples livelyhoods and also taxes for the australian government and State.

The ease with which activists providing no economic benefit themselves enjoy to derail projects of all types and cause economical harm to the nation is a ridiculous and unsustainable situation.

Australia needs job, industry to boost up Economy and revenue to support the social infrastructure and amenity. Few motivated people can not jeopardize the larger societal interest at ransom to promote their ulterior motives. We must speak up, to witness an injustice is not only cowardice, it is a crime. We must stifle the instigator and unite to confront.

I believe governments should have a system that supports jobs and investment. This Project (Carmichael coal mine and Rail project) is an extreme need in current market conditions; which will create thousands of employment benefits and billions of revenue benefits to Australia.

It has become far too easy for a very small minority (often coached or funded by international NGOs) of poorly informed, or downright dishonest people to jeopardise the Australian economy & derail good projects with numerous benefits to offer our nation.

Please keep the economy and jobs alive.

To all those in Power, I am writing to make a submission on the Carmichael coal mine proposal in Central Queensland. I believe this project is key to the development of Queensland, Australia and other countries.

As an Australian expat, working in the mining area aboard watching this multibillion Adani project unravel is extremely frustrating. If this project ultimately fails, it will be to the detriment of potential future investment for not only Queensland but also other potential mining projects across Australia. More importantly the loss of job creation and all of the benefits, directly and indirectly associated with the project effecting local communities, Queensland and across Australia. The long-term financial ripple effect due to the loss of this project for present and future generations is immeasurable. I sincerely hope common sense soon prevails.

Our mining industry is too important to lose. I endorse the mining community coming together to have their say.

The general community and politicians need to realise that the commodities and infrastructure that we enjoy in Australia have been largely provided by the mining industry - the electricity that we enjoy and the steel and money that we use to build our country's infrastructure is provided from coal mining. The environmental lobbies have a vision of the future but no detailed path on how to get there. Plot the path and then let's have a rational debate - not a scare campaign!

Well funded fringe minority groups are holding the country to ransom through idealistic beliefs as opposed to rational, sustainable economic development. The silent majority now need to get a voice!
