India isn't going to stop using coal and they will get their coal elsewhere (if we dont provide it) Our higher quality (less polutive)coal is better for the environment than the alternatives. The minorites need to realise If you dont have coal you dont have coal taxes which subsidise the renewable energy technologies they want. No subsidies, no development. and the jobs go offshore.

How long does a company have to fight to spend money in Australia creating jobs and keeping towns alive. Let's get these projects up and running and cut the stalling tactics by the minorities. Think of the benefits for Central Qld during a very tough period. India isn't going to stop using coal just because Australia won't play ball. No wonder there isn't more investment in Australia by overseas companies. Why would they bother when it so hard to do business here.

Professional activists have a much different agenda to the environmentalists/greens. The greens are prepared to work with companies to ensure the environment is taken care of and an amicable resolution is found for all parties involved. Whereas the professional activists are essentially sponsored by international competitor mining companies in an attempt to strangle the strongest coal market in the world, with the highest quality coal reserves, from the Bowen, Surat and Gallillee basins. Their desire to crush the coal industry in Australia is superseded only by their ignorance and ability to proliferate more ignorance into the general public. The general public needs to be made more aware of the realities of the entire situation so that educated, non-biased debate and resolutions can be formulated to ensure a prosperous and mutually beneficial outcome for the locals, the State and Federal Governments, the mining proponents and the Environment.

Projects of this nature are vital to create employment and much needed revenue for Queensland and the country as a whole. These do gooders seem to have nothing better to do with their idle time. I can't help wonder how they would react to having no regular income to support a family?

Time for the Qld and Federal governments to stop allowing the minorities to exploit loopholes and technicalities. Its too easy to stop a project just for the sake of stopping the project.

Too many jobs have been lost in the region. We need projects like this to generate Jobs and revenue for all of Qld. It is time the Government took a stand and not let the minorities control the elected government but let the elected government do what they were elected to do.

Time to oil the squeaky wheel and let the majority speak not the minority.
Stop the loop holes and get these projects going.
