Take action against legal loopholes

We need to have a balanced judgment on whether projects proceed or not. legal loopholes do not help anyone.

Eco terrorism will go the way of all other terrorism in history - conservation and education have a place at the table, but ignorance does not. National revenue allows us the luxury of looking after ourselves AND the environment.

Govt should not of granted exploration permits in first place. Now investment capital must be preserved to support further investment and create jobs and wealth.

We need the revenue, the jobs for our and our childrens future. This can be done and done whilst looking after the enviroment.

Enough is enough! Billions in revenue and tens of thousands of needed jobs in new Queensland mines are being stopped by activists exploiting legal loopholes.

The AusIMM had an excellent ' let the b*s frreze in the dark' bumper sticker back in the early-mid 80's; we should resurrect it.

I wholly support new legislation to reduce the red tape and close the legal loop holes the activists are exploiting. Unfortunately the pendulum has swung too in favour of the environmental activist and is having a huge negative impact on economic and social well-being of the millions of people who depend on resource development projects for their livelihoods. A balanced approach to resource development that considers environmental, economic and social factors is essential to the long term future of our society.

The overseas funding of anti development activities groups in Australia is a major issue and government must remove the tax free status of such groups. The legal loop holes as referred to - is it really or a result of judgement being to conservative ?

People in the area are stuggling to get work, and heaps are without a paying job. These people are looking to find reasons not to let this go ahead, where it will create thousands of needed jobs, what the hell is the world coming to, toknock back peoples lively-hood.......

To the groups and individuals holding this and other projects up with your frivolous and moronic actions, this demonstrate your hypocrisy as you sit back in your petrol driven vehicle driving to and fro, using electricity generated by coal fired power stations, eating food produced using fertilizers manufactured with electricity and fuels, while you cook with gas drawn from the ground and throw away other peoples hard earned money on this cause of yours. How about you take a meaningful stand that falls inline with you beliefs and sell your 4 bedroom house and use your own money, abandon modern society and all the benefits that come with it, walk or ride a horse and then others might take you seriously. And don't ride a bike because it's also made from metals using coal, electricity and hydrocarbons in the rubber tyres.

Sustainable economic development is a necessary prerequisite for the improvement of living standards, employment opportunities and socio-economic indicators the world over and Australia is no exception. Resource projects that balance economic, social and environmental outcomes provide this impetus for long-term positive growth and should be supported.

Eco-radicalism is cover for a concerted attack against capitalism; their literature, their speeches, their very actions are antithetical to both capitalism and free market economics.

Queensland and the whole of Australia needs the investment captial and on going venue that mining provides. There are adequate checks and balances already provided by the system. People need the employment opportunies now. We need to close the loopholes that enable undue delays.

This project is not only assentual to coal mining companys , thier workers nor just to QLD. For it not to proceed this WILL affect the whole of the country from the candle stick maker right down to the baker for the sake of a better phrase. . We need to manage it YES and behave responsabley YES this is what mining companys do. I have worked in industrys who wouldnt care what happens to the enviroment as long as the revenue continues. So mining companys do look after enviroments and do this on a more regular basis not only daily but hourly if not every working minute. and they do so with rules set in place by goverment but there morals taken the enviroment seriously, constantly looking at legislated changes but taken into account there responsability, enviromental surroundings, communitys and being responsabe This legal loop hole is jepordising the growth of this great country but it needs to be closed so we can manage the peoples concerns along with saustainability combinging enviroments and jobs as a one and not just take the easy assumption that Mining companys are only out to devestate the enviroment at a profit.

These activists are anti humanity. The revenue contributes to public well-being in so many ways.

Regulatory supervision of mining in Australia is most capable of thorough vetting of proposed mining projects and protecting the environment. Stop the undue delay!

We need a properly considered review not something held up in court processes. The years of review by community groups and government organisations is sufficient.

Australia is competing with the rest of the world for these projects. They are better off happening here that in areas with less strict environmental regulations.
